About
Wm. Randal Painter Biography
“I am fascinated by texture and the illusion of depth on a two-dimensional surface. I enjoy using both these elements in my work. Skilled craftsmanship has always been a great lure for me in my own artistic taste, ranking high along content and composition. The sense of wonder and discovery is a continually renewing motivation for me as an artist. The challenge to transcend the technical aspects of design and bring power and life to an image is a lifelong pursuit.”

Randal Painter was born in the state of Massachusetts, but spent the majority of his school years growing up in Denver, Colorado. Early on, he showed a talent for drawing and a good eye for detail. In 1985, he received a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Northern Colorado, with an emphasis in painting and printmaking.
